How to Use the Smart Checklist Builder (UpKeep Intelligence)

With the help of AI you can quickly generate checklists using asset details, uploaded files, and custom prompts. This feature streamlines checklist creation while keeping all original options available.


Steps to Create a New Checklist

  1. Click “Add Checklist”
    From your Checklists list view, click “Add Checklist.”

  2. Choose how you want to build it
    You’ll see four options:

    • Start from Blank

    • Use Template from the Template Library

    • Upload via CSV

    • Use the Smart Checklist Builder


How Smart Import Works

  1. Enter your prompt or use voice input
    Type or speak what you want the checklist to include (e.g., “Preventative Maintenance for Freezer”).

  2. Select an asset (optional)

  3. Upload files (optional)
    Supported file types:

    • PDF

    • PNG / JPG

    • CSV

    • Excel

    You can say things like:

    • “Follow this PDF step-by-step.”

    • “Use this file as a general reference.”

  4. Click “Generate”
    Smart Import will build your checklist based on all the info provided.


✏️ Customize Your Checklist

After the checklist is generated, you can:

  • Edit the title, description, and tags

  • Add or delete tasks

  • Change task types (e.g., checklist item, signature, etc.)

  • Duplicate tasks

  • Drag and drop tasks to reorder

The screen you edit in is exactly what your technicians will see—no separate preview needed.
