AI Insights in UpKeep Edge provide automated analysis of your sensor data to help you quickly understand trends, detect issues, and take action.
Insights highlight important patterns—such as repeated threshold breaches or abnormal readings—so your team can make faster, more informed decisions without manually reviewing raw data.
Note: AI Insights are currently available in the Beta experience. You must enable the Beta view to access this feature.
Enable AI Insights (Beta)
To use AI Insights, you’ll first need to enable the Beta experience.
Steps
Navigate to Edge > Sensors
Select a Sensor
Toggle Beta View at the top of the page
Once enabled, you’ll have access to AI Insights within the sensor view.
How AI Insights Work
AI Insights analyze your sensor data over time and surface key information, such as:
Threshold breaches
Repeated or sustained issues
Trends and patterns in readings
Summary statistics (e.g., averages, maximum values)
Insights are designed to help you quickly understand:
What happened
When it happened
How often it occurred
Insight Generation
Automatic Insights
Insights are automatically generated every hour per sensor
When you open a sensor, insights will refresh if new data is available
Manual Insights (On Demand)
You can generate updated insights manually for more recent data.
How to Generate Insights
Open a Sensor (Beta view enabled)
Locate the Insights section
Click Generate Insight
Insights can be generated every 15 minutes
A countdown timer will indicate when the next generation is available
Using AI Insights to Take Action
AI Insights help you move from detection to action.
From an insight, you can:
Create a Work Order
Investigate related alerts or incidents
Identify patterns that may require preventive maintenance
Work Orders from Insights
When you create a work order from an insight:
It is linked to that insight
It includes relevant sensor and condition data
This helps your team or technicians quickly understand and resolve the issue.
Examples of AI Insights
AI Insights may highlight scenarios such as:
A sensor repeatedly exceeding a temperature threshold over several days
A consistent pattern of readings approaching critical levels
Sudden spikes or drops in sensor data
These insights help identify underlying issues and support root cause analysis.
