Nova is available in the UpKeep mobile app and is optimized for voice-first, hands-free work. Tap Ask Nova to ask questions, get guidance, and take action—right from where you’re working in the app.
Before you begin
Nova follows your existing UpKeep role and permissions. If you don’t have permission to view or edit something in UpKeep, Nova won’t be able to do it either.
Open Ask Nova
Open the UpKeep mobile app
Tap Ask Nova (available across the app)
When you open Nova again later, it returns you to the same conversation thread, so you can keep context as you move around the app.
Use voice or type a message
Tap then Talk (voice)
When you open Ask Nova, Nova will start listening immediately so you can begin speaking right away.
While dictating, you can:
Stop dictation (Nova will keep what it heard)
Switch to typing if needed
Type instead (text)
Prefer typing? Tap into the message field and type your request like you would in a chat.
Attach an image (optional)
You can attach images to your message for added context.
In Ask Nova, tap the + (plus) button
Take a new photo (or select an existing one, if available)
Add your question or request and send
What you can ask Nova to do
Nova can help answer questions and complete common tasks—especially around work orders.
Examples:
“What should I work on next?”
“Log 1 hour of labor on work order 123.”
“Summarize the work history of Asset A/C Unit 3.”
“Write a closeout note and mark this work order complete.”
If Nova can’t complete a request
Nova may not be able to complete a request if:
Your role doesn’t have permission to perform that action
The request requires information your account can’t access
Nova needs more details to proceed (for example, which work order you mean)
If this happens, Nova will tell you what’s missing or what it can’t do.
Tips for best results
Be specific (include work order numbers, asset names, part numbers, or time)
Use short, clear phrases when speaking
Review any confirmation details before proceeding with changes
