Learn how to change and reset your password across web and mobile devices

Updated today

Even the best of us forget passwords—especially when we're busy or away from work. Fortunately, resetting or updating your UpKeep password is quick and easy.

If you're having trouble logging in, this guide will walk you through simple troubleshooting steps to help you regain access. Whether you're changing your password as a regular user or after using a temporary one, the process is the same across both web and mobile.

Password requirements:

  • At least 10 characters

  • Must include one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number

If you don’t receive the password reset email, check your spam or junk folder. Still can’t find it? Reach out via in-app chat or email [email protected] with your login email and ask: "Please provide temp password." If the temporary password does not work, verify that you've entered it correctly by observing any case sensitivity and avoiding formatting errors from copy-pasting. Clearing your browser’s cache or trying a different browser might also resolve the issue.

If your password reset link has expired, you can generate a new one by revisiting the password reset page and entering your login email. The newly generated link will not have an expiration timeframe, allowing you ample time to reset your password.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • Email Delay: Ensure your email address is correct and check for typos. If the email isn’t received, verify your spam or junk folders and try again. Contact support if the issue persists

  • Temporary Password Not Working: Temporary passwords are case-sensitive. Ensure the correct case is used and avoid formatting errors. Clear browser cache or cookies, manually type the password instead of using copy/paste, and if formatting issues arise or the password still doesn't work, request a new temporary password from support.

  • Failed Login After Password Change: Double-check the newly set password for typos or errors. If the issue persists, initiate another password reset

What Should I Do If I Encounter Errors Using a Temporary Password?

Temporary passwords are often issued for secure access during password reset procedures. However, encountering errors during their use is a common issue due to various reasons, such as formatting and usability factors. Below is a comprehensive guide to troubleshooting and resolving temporary password errors.

Common Errors with Temporary Passwords

  1. Invalid Username Error: This occurs when the temporary password is not entered correctly. Example causes include:

    • Case sensitivity issues: Temporary passwords are case-sensitive, and entering them incorrectly can lead to this error. Ensure the exact case (uppercase and lowercase) of the supplied password is maintained.

  2. Invalid Address/Error Despite Correct Inputs: This can happen if the system doesn’t recognize the password or due to other technical issues. Factors to consider:

    • Residual data like cookies or cache may interfere with the login process.

    • Copying and pasting the password may introduce formatting errors.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Verify Password Accuracy: Ensure that:

    • You are typing the password exactly as it appears (case and characters).

    • Avoid unnecessary spacing and incorrect inputs from copying the password.

  2. Clear Browser Data:

    • Clear cookies and cache from your browser.

    • Try a different browser or computer to rule out localized issues.

  3. Manually Type the Password:

    • Avoid the copy-paste function. Manually type the password to prevent accidental formatting errors.

  4. Request a New Temporary Password:

    • If the problem persists despite these steps, reach out to the UpKeep Asset Operations support team to request a new temporary password.

Escalation Steps

If you are unable to resolve the issue using the above steps, here’s what you can do:

  1. Contact Support Team: Provide details such as the error message encountered and the troubleshooting steps already attempted. The support team can help you diagnose and resolve the issue.

  2. Check for Account-Specific Issues: Occasionally, errors may occur due to issues with the account itself, such as server-side problems. The support team can investigate further.
