With our Legacy Preventative Maintenance module, you could create repeating work orders over a given frequency (daily, monthly, annual, etc.) This way is slowly being removed from UpKeep as we have now moved on to PM Triggers, which are now recurring work orders with more customization.
The Preventive Maintenance (PM) feature in UpKeep is a robust and flexible system designed to replace the legacy recurring work orders. This modern approach allows for better scheduling, management, and customization of maintenance activities, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.
If you are currently using recurring work orders, these will automatically be migrated to PM triggers. During and after this migration, users will retain access to all migrated triggers in the system, and your processes will continue unhindered in the PM module.
This video is going to walk you through how to stop these work orders, remove them from your work orders list page or archive them.
Preventive Maintenance in UpKeep supports flexible scheduling with predefined cadences: Daily (generated 1 day prior), Weekly (1 week in advance), Monthly (1 month before), and Yearly (3 months ahead). Users can set the frequency and specific operational days for PM triggers to align with maintenance goals.
**Please note:
Before deleting your legacy work orders, you SHOULD set them up as a PM trigger so that you don't lose progress on Maintenance. To create a PM trigger:
Navigate to the "Preventive Maintenance Triggers" section in UpKeep
Click "Create PM" and provide trigger details (name, title, and required fields)
Configure the scheduling setup according to your requirements
Add relevant assets, assign personnel, and save the schedule
