UpKeep runs on iOS, Android, and any modern web browser. Below are the minimum requirements and recommended hardware for getting the most out of the platform — whether you're in the field, on the shop floor, or at your desk.
Web Application
UpKeep's web app works on any device running a modern browser — no installation required.
Supported browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari (be sure to run the most updated versions of each browser)
Best performance: We recommend Google Chrome for the best experience.
Internet connection: Wi-Fi or cellular required; offline mode is available on mobile.
Best suited for managers and admins handling reporting, configuration, asset management, and scheduling.
iOS Requirements
Minimum OS: iOS 15 or later
Supported devices: iPhone and iPad
Recommended models: iPhone 12+, iPad (10th gen+), iPad Air

Windows & Desktop
UpKeep does not have a native Windows or desktop app. Access the full platform via the UpKeep web app on any Windows 10/11 PC, MacBook, iMac, or Chromebook using a supported browser.

Primary Devices
Tablets — Ideal for technicians. Large screens make work orders, inspections, and checklists easy to navigate. Recommended: iPad (10th gen+), iPad Air, Samsung Galaxy Tab A9, Lenovo Tab P12.
Smartphones — Most flexible option for quick updates, photo uploads, and push notifications on the go. Recommended: iPhone 12+, Samsung Galaxy S-series, Google Pixel 6+, Motorola G-series.
Desktops & Laptops — Best for managers and admins. Recommended: Windows 10/11 PC, MacBook/iMac, Chrome OS with any modern browser.
Harsh environments: For facilities with dust, moisture, or heavy machinery, consider rugged devices including Panasonic Toughbook, Zebra ET-series tablets, or Samsung Galaxy XCover.
Supporting Hardware
Barcode & QR Scanners — UpKeep supports scanning natively via device camera. Dedicated scanners speed up asset lookups and inventory pulls. Options: Zebra DS2200, Honeywell Voyager, Socket Mobile S700.
Label Printers — Print QR code or barcode asset tags to label equipment and inventory. Options: Brother QL-820NWB, Zebra ZD421, DYMO LabelWriter.
IoT Sensors — Enable predictive maintenance by monitoring temperature, vibration, humidity, or runtime. UpKeep offers native sensors; additional devices connect via custom integration.
Networking — Reliable Wi-Fi is recommended for real-time sync. UpKeep includes offline mode for low-connectivity areas — data syncs automatically when the device reconnects. Supported: Wi-Fi 5/6 access points, LTE/5G data plans.
