UpKeep’s product team is committed to serving our maintenance community and welcomes any ideas you may have to improve our service. Below are some guidelines about how to make the most of the forum and the rules of engagement users must follow while using the feature request forum.

Getting Started

Here are some best practices below to make this a useful feedback forum.

Check and Upvote first:

  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have submitted one before creating your own.

  • Contribute to ideas that have been shared by others by adding comments.

  • Upvote existing ideas rather than creating duplicate requests.

  • Add your own ideas if yours isn’t there!

  • One idea per post please.

Provide Context:

  • Let us know about your workflow experience with UpKeep’s current features or products. What is particularly painful for you? Why?

  • Provide specific details and examples of what you are looking to change and explain why.

  • Explain what the feature should accomplish. Why is this important to you?

  • Tell us how the feature would change your experience as a user, being mindful of the effect it may have on other users in the community.

General Rules of Engagement

As this is a shared forum that is available to our user community there are some general rules of engagements to follow.

Be Respectful:

We all have different perspectives and ideas that we would like to have heard. We want you to treat other contributors and their ideas with respect. Suggestions disparaging others and non-constructive feedback will be closed without comment.

Be Clear:

By explaining the “why” and providing clear and thoughtful feedback behind your idea, this will help the product team with their evaluation. Be mindful of formatting and spellcheck your text, making sure that your feedback is understandable as others in the community can vote on your idea. Keep in mind that one idea should be per post.

How UpKeep Manages your Ideas

Here is what to expect from the product team after you have provided meaningful feedback.

Ideas and Comments will be reviewed:

Although the product team will be reviewing each idea, note that all suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.

Expect Engagement:

The product team may reach out for further information on ideas you have provided.

Look out for Status Updates:

The product team will share feedback on a regular basis for highly voted ideas. This may include status updates on where an idea’s life-cycle is at. Users will also know when ideas become part of the Product roadmap or when an idea is not ready to be on the roadmap at this time.

House-Keeping Maintenance:

Ideas will be continuously monitored. This may include updating unclear ideas to be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery. Ideas related to bugs, product training, or features that already exist will be archived. The team may also periodically archive ideas that are not going to be progressed at this time. Dialogue on support requests, suggestions disparaging others, and non-constructive feedback will be closed without comment.
