Embeddable Widgets is a developer tool that empowers UpKeep Business Plus customers to customize & embed widgets onto their own websites & TV displays — all within minutes.

The Embeddable Widgets portal is a portal, external to the UpKeep app, that allows UpKeep’s Business Plus customers to customize their own embeddable applications.
The portal then auto-generates code that customers can then copy & paste onto their own website. Access the portal at https://widget-upkeep.herokuapp.com/.

Who it's for

UpKeep Business Plus customers who...

  • Want to use TV displays to communicate work orders / asset status / technician performance.

  • Want to embed a request form onto their website.

Typically, this is built for customers who have IT teams / developers / solution engineers with some basic HTML knowledge.

What it does

The Embeddable Widgets portal is a portal of widgets, external to the UpKeep app, that allows UpKeep’s customers to customize their own widgets and easily copy & paste the auto-generated code onto their own website.

Widgets includes

  • Request form, embeddable on website

  • Work order dashboard for TV display

  • Asset dashboard for TV display

  • Performance dashboard for TV display

How it works

There’s 3 main steps to use Embeddable Widgets.

First, log in to the portal with your UpKeep credentials, located on the top right. Make sure you have a Business Plus account for API access.

Second, customize the widget as needed. Preview of your customizations are shown in real-time on the right-hand side.

Last, copy & paste the code into your website. Click on the icon that looks like a clipboard to save & copy the customization.



Notes

  • Clicking the "Log out and Disable Widgets" will 1. log you out of the portal, and 2. disable any & all embedded widgets. This means that widgets will not be connected to your UpKeep account, until you log back into the portal.

  • Embeddable Widgets uses sessionToken that has an expiration date for security purposes. Embeddable Widgets will send you an automated email 3 days before your authentication session expires. To re-authenticate, click on the "Re-authenticate" button and enter in your UpKeep credentials.

  • Embeddable Widgets is in beta mode and is subject to change. Please contact our team for any questions.

  • The request form does not register the email of the requester and does not send them updates. This is looking to change as we continuously improve our API. Please reach out if this is something you would need.
